International Student Ministry Of all college campuses in Nebraska, the largest percentage of international students are enrolled at the University of Nebraska in Kearney. Large numbers of students come from Japan, China, Korea, and all over the world. Along with striving for academic excellence, they hunger for opportunities to improve their English conversation skills. Add to this a curiosity about Christianity, and CSF has a unique mission field right in Kearney. "Conversation Table" takes place each Sunday evening at the CSF campus house. International students gather with American students to enjoy a homecooked meal - many reflecting their home countries food fare - and a night of fun and fellowship. A simple Bible lesson is shared in a way that international student can relate to their own lives. We welcome those who would like to help with this important ministry by bringing food or coming to visit with students. Host families are always needed! In addition to "Conversation Table," CSF offers regular trips to Walmart on our shuttle bus, area sightseeing trips to places like the Pumpkin Patch so students can experience American traditions and holidays, and short-term mission trips that combine tourist stops along with community service. Enjoy this short slide show of some of the international student activities over the past few years: |
