Mission Trips in the US

In addition to the mission work done in Mexico, CSF students and sponsors travel to areas within this country as well.  Some of the most recent trips were:

New Orleans .... Following the Hurricane Katrina natural disaster in 2005 in Louisiana, CSF students from UNL joined with two other ministry groups to travel south and help with disaster relief.  Several days of hard work and hard driving later, they returned home exhausted but inspired by the way churches and other organizations had come together to provide assistance to the thousands of displaced and hurting people.  SEE PHOTOS HERE.

Omaha "Urban Plunge" .... UNL CSF students spent a weekend in inner city Omaha, talking with and serving food & coffee to those on the streets throughout the night.  Words of encouragement and hugs were abundant, and seeds were planted as the love of Jesus was in full display.  SEE PHOTOS HERE.

"Destination: Unknown" ..... The students and staff at Northeast Community College took a step of faith during their Spring Break in 2007 and headed out for ..... unknown destinations!  How did it work?  They drew from jars each morning, one jar held slips giving a direction like North or South, East or West ... and the second jar held lengths of time like 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or 2 hours.  They headed out and when they reached each destination, they stopped for lunch at a local restaurant and asked who might need some help.  Each day they were immediately directed to a person or family who need work done.  The team help with "lambing," shoveling mountains of snow, moving corn, and helping a young man with cancer with house repairs.  When asked about the trip, the answer was unanimously, "It was amazing how God sent us to just the right places and just the right people!"  SEE PHOTOS HERE.

South Dakota Reservation Mission Trip .... NECC CSFers headed north onto the Native American Reservation to offer help with the children and adults in the area.  They spent lots of time giving hugs, talking one-on-one, and helping with construction work and building repair.  SEE PHOTOS HERE.
