1) Tell me, what exactly is CSF?
CSF stands for Christian Student Fellowship. It's a student organization and a Christian ministry. It is geared for the college students at UNK and on other campuses across Nebraska. CSF is a group of Christians who meet for Bible study, prayer, growth, fellowship, and other cool things. We have no CSF doctrine that we follow…we just follow the Bible. We try to do things like the early Christians did. CSF is an independent, non-denominational organization, although students from every walk of life make up CSF.
For more information about how CSF is set up and run, look at the "About CSF" page on this website. We just want you to remember this simple fact: CSF exists for 2 purposes…1) Jesus and 2) students. Everyone is welcome at CSF.
2) OK, so what exactly does CSF do?
Lots of things, really. Right now we are offering our "large group meeting" on Thursday nights at 7pm. This is a night of uplifting praise and worship, Bible teaching, time for prayer, drama, and hanging out with old and new friends.
We have other areas to get involved in also. We offer several small group Bible studies that meet throughout the week. We have social activities, retreats, community service projects, and a mission trip each Spring Break. We also have lots of special "ministries" for you to get involved in, like the Drama Ministry, Praise Team, and others.
3) So, how can I get involved in some of these activities?
Well, you just need to show up! Getting plugged in is the first step. If you are interested in the Thursday night get together, but are nervous because you think you won't know anyone, just call Kyle (402..202.1455) or Rachel (308.293.3553). You will get someone real on the phone who would love to get to know you personally, look out for you, or meet you there.
We have small group Bible study sign-ups around the 2nd week of the semester, and that's a great way to get involved. Of course, it's never too late to get started in a Bible study, so if you missed signing-up, just call the CSF Office or the small group leader, and we will get you plugged in.
Check back, also, to this website often for updates and insight about the neat things CSF has going on for you to do.
4) So who runs CSF?
If you have questions about who governs CSF, check out the "About CSF" page on the website. There is lots of information on the CSF Statewide Website so take a look there is you want. It is www.csfneb.org and it linked back here.
In addition to our Board, there is the CSF Statewide Director, Greg Swinney, who oversees the entire CSF organization in the state of Nebraska (including the CSF at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and Northeast Community College!) He'll be around CSF all the time unless he is helping out on one of the other campuses.
Check out the staff page to learn more about everyone who played a role in CSF leadership.
5) Do I have to be a Christian to be involved with CSF? Or do I have to be a part of a certain denomination?
No. We want anyone and everyone to feel welcome at CSF. This means you!
6) This sounds great! What am I waiting for?
Good question! Don’t wait any longer…jump in and get involved now!
