We are a movement of college-age men
and women earnestly following Jesus. We invite everyone
to be a part, regardless of background.
We meet on campus in groups of
varying size and style. These gatherings are informal,
infused with music and interaction, and cover topics
from relationships to the nature of truth. These
meetings are opportunities for students to meet God,
each other, and the needs of the community.
We seek to introduce
UNL students to an authentic
relationship with Jesus Christ. We plan
to do this through...
worship...Expressions of thanks
through word, music, and service
prayer...Communication with God.
fellowship...Community of
students developing quality
relationships.
discipleship...Learning about
Jesus and following His example.
mission...Living a life that
reflects our relationship with God in
what we say & do.
What do
other CSFers say?

".....Coming
from a large family of six children,
my parents, a sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and a nephew, and niece,
I knew I would miss my whole family while being at college.
Still, I didn't anticipate how far the two hour
drive home would seem until I finally arrived on campus.
As a freshman coming to college and
realizing my family (my faithful support network) would be almost two
hours away did not hit me until I was settled and ready to stay my first
night in the dorm. Soon I found that I was alone and not only was I
alone, but I was in a very unfamiliar and uncomfortable place.
I would quickly find that the people of Christian
Student Fellowship, could be that family here. They desired to be that
family here that I so desperately missed back home. Homesickness is
something that all college freshman face. Whether they admit to the
feeling or not, on some level they really miss their parents and
siblings. Finding a support network at college can be very difficult.
Especially if that college student does not feel accepted by those
around him/her. However, the people involved in CSF are extremely
welcoming and accepting.
CSF, to me, is my support network at college. It
is my home, my family. It is a gift from God to help me through my
college years and I am immensely grateful."
"...my faith all but vanished.....As
a nineteen-year-old freshman, I’m thankful that growing up, I had solid
faith in the Lord.
But by the time I came to college, my spiritual life was
suffering.
I think back on my first day at college—I met a guy with an amazing love
for Jesus. He kept encouraging me to go to CSF with him. I agreed to
visit and “try it out” so I went...I felt comfortable and accepted.
Nobody there was ashamed for loving Christ. We have awesome discussions
about anything and everything. Things like how just important it is to
trust God, and ways to have fun without drinking. I’ve met some of my
best friends at CSF...and I can’t imagine my college life without it.”

“at college, it was so tempting to give my faith a break
while
I was at college like so many other students seem to do.
After all, my parents weren’t going to be there to take me to church
anymore, and people always talk about the new things you should
experience during college.
I
am so thankful that CSF was there to encourage me and challenge me to
make my faith my own….”

"There I was—at a new school, in a new state
and with a chance for a new beginning.
Looking for a way to meet people and get involved,
I decided to check out some of the campus
ministries. The first group I attended was too small, the second group
was too big, but the third group—Christian Student Fellowship, was just
right. The atmosphere of CSF was laidback and welcoming. As the first
few weeks went by, I felt like this was where God wanted me to be.
Now my first year of college is coming to a close,
and the word that keeps coming to mind when I think of CSF is family.
After recently traveling together to Saltillo, Mexico this became even
more apparent. CSF is packed with different personalities, as many
families are, but these personalities compliment each other. A majority
of the friends I have made I’ve met in CSF, and these relationships
strengthened as a result of the trip.
Also, while in Mexico, I had the opportunity to
rededicate my life to Christ. I was baptized by Dan (CSF Campus minister
in Lincoln) in the Rio Grande. I am glad that I was able to share this
moment with my new family. When we came back to Nebraska after being
crammed in vans for two days, I thought I would want a break from
everyone. However, when I returned to my dorm room, I missed being
around people from CSF and would have went back to Saltillo at that
moment.
Additionally, I have enjoyed the women’s Bible
study Jenny led this semester. I admire her spiritual maturity and how
she takes time to grab a cup of coffee with me to find out what has been
going on in my week. CSF, in general, is full of people who truly listen
to and care about others. Here, one is able to develop better
relationships with amazing people and with Christ.
