some thoughts from Josh....
As a senior at UNK I’ve seen that CSF is in constant motion - incoming freshmen, transfer students, as well as, outgoing seniors. Each year I have been here has had its own special flavor, it’s own personality (whether it be Marshmallow Mateys, Boneless BBQ wings, or El NICRA victory ice cream). While the group is constantly in flux, one thing has remained the same throughout, one thing is constant: its sense of community. I can remember my first visit to CSF. A transfer student three weeks removed from a Christian college, I was hesitant to jump into the Christian community again. I remember food. I remember sitting at tables and talking...that’s it…talking. It was so refreshing experience of my freshman year. Community. I remember my sophomore year and Dudes (our guys Bible study group). Guys, cereal, and Bibles…simple, but it worked. I remember sitting around with my Mateys and talking. I think that I spent more time playing board games and hashing through faith with the guys than I did studying (sorry Mom!). Community. This year, on Thursday nights, I start anticipating those tasty buffalo wings. Some of the greatest stories have come from time spent around the Applebee’s tables. Mexico…all I have to say is Mexico. Mission trips transform people. In three and a half years at UNK, I can say that I have seen what true Christian student fellowship can be. Maybe even without knowing it, the community here at CSF has overflowed with love for one another...for me it’s happened over a meal, at a table, with laughter and joy. For this reason, when I think of the CSF ministry, I will always think of Christians loving and encouraging one another and, as a result, building lifelong friendships.
